The bats of Giglio Island, a walk with an expert to learn about their habits
Who would think of bats as one of the most important fauna of the small Mediterranean islands? Unattractive and little known, bats are on endangered lists precisely because they are vulnerable or in danger of extinction. During the night they weave fast trajectoriesin search of food, while during the day they rest in secluded places. Our expertwill tell us what secrets they hide and how we can protect them: we’ll take a walk outside Giglio Castello, in an area where it is possible to spot these flying mammals and, equipped with a bat-detector, we can to listen to the ultrasounds they emit.
